Tatsuno Art Project 2012

Tatsuno, located in Hyogo Prefecture, is an old town around castle noted for its many traditional Japanese-style buildings. In the 16th century, soy-sauce production began to flourish in the city and storage facilities can still be found in the city.
From Fri., November 16 to Sun., November 25, 2012, a contemporary art festival called Tatsuno Art Project 2012 –Arts and Memories- will be held in some of the city’s old buildings. Organized by Kasuya Akiko (Associate Professor, Kyoto City University of Arts), the event presents installations by nine internationally known artists from Japan, France, and Spain. The works will be shown in what were once soy-sauce warehouses and breweries.
